Freyr is the god of the sun in Scandinavian mythology. Enchantment and runic magic Becoming the Eye of Frey - the greatest mercy

Frey is one of the most familiar and beloved gods of the ancient tradition. This name, translated from Old Scandinavian, means “pan,” and he is truly the master of birth, sexuality, prosperity, prosperity, ancestral power and birth. He blesses not only the sowing of thinness, but also the creativity of the undertaking. It helps those who want to conceive children and brings good luck to the community. Frey is the god of royalty, and to him is blessed the wealth and fertility of this land. Whose boar is a powerful warrior: his symbol, the boar, emphasizes not only his kinship, but his strength in battle. Frey laid a miraculous golden boar on the name of Gullinbursti (“Golden Bristle”). Participants in oath rituals often sealed their sacred oaths by placing their hand on the back of the sacrificial pig. In addition, among the berserk warriors there were those who drew their strength from the warrior gods not from the witch or the wolf, but from the boar. The boar was often depicted on sholomas and wild beasts, so that the power of this sacred creature was transferred to the warrior. Freyr is the only god who, on the day of Ragnarok, will go into battle unarmoured, because he gave his sword as a ransom for the kohana, the lord Gerd, who became his squad. Frey became the great-grandfather of the kings, and the Swedish royal dynasty grew to a new generation. According to these traditions, in pre-Christian times, Freyr's priests wore women's cloth, hung their ankles, and danced in honor of their god. However, it is not excluded that the riddles about the women's clothing actually stand behind the taboo on wearing belts and knots in the rituals of the baths, through which rituals in honor of Frey were carried out in the fashionable clothing that is developing. Some modern pagans respect that these rituals resemble morris - an English folk dance that is celebrated at summer saints.

Freyr may be called without a word. The axis includes: Argud ("God of the Harvest"), Bedfrod ("Wise in Battle"), Bjart ("Lighty"), Diar ("Priest"), Mattug ("Powerful"), Nitum ("Godivets") , Fegjafa (“Giver of Wealth”) and Folkvaldi roku (“Ruler of the People”).

In addition, Freyr is the god of sensitive people. The most familiar of the myths about Frey is the story of his matchmaking before the Great Gerd. Odin had a high throne in Asgard under the name of Khlidsk'yalf, from whom the ruler of the Ass could watch over everything that happened in all the worlds. No one, except Vsebatka, was allowed to sit on this throne. Just once, if Odin had fallen in front of the mandri, Freyr secretly destroyed the fence. Looking at all the worlds from the throne of Hlidsk'alv, having noticed at Jotunheim, the world of velet, the beautiful maiden. One look at her made Frey’s heart ignite. From that time on, he busied himself with his kohana day and night. Without eating or sleeping, suffering from addiction; And, they say, your mother Skadi ordered Skirnir, Freyr’s trusted friend, to find out the cause of his illness.

Skírnir obtained a truthful confession from Frey and, having sacrificed his blessings, prepared to fly to Jotunheim in order to marry Gerd to his squad. Ale, in the city, he coveted from Frey a wonderful horse and a wonderful sword, which fought by itself, as if alive. Frey willingly sacrificed both his sword and his horse, and destroyed the Skirnir along the road. Yogo was allowed to the chambers of Gerd, but the command appeared uncooperative. She supported Skirnir's proposal and threw him a gift, so that Freyr's envoys had to resort to very dubious methods of matchmaking. If the proud maiden did not succumb to the threat, Skirnir cursed her with three more powerful runes and another one - Thurisaz, the most important and most unsafe rune in this futar. It is not enough to instill a curse in her, however, in connection with which Anne Groa Sheffield in her work “Frey: God of Light” explains that “the magic of runes and evils symbolizes Freyr’s ability to awaken sexual desires.” So, anyway, Gerd agreed to meet with Frey at the sacred gate after nine days and nine nights and accepted his proposition.

It is noteworthy that in “Loki's Rebellion” it is said about Frey that he never portrayed maidens and squads - otherwise, seemingly, never messed around with wives. Frey is the god of life force, so clear that it is simply impossible to stream it. Therefore, he was often depicted with a majestic erect phallus. Frey gives rise to life in all its endless dimensions and blesses love affairs in all their numerical forms. It bestows not only tender pleasures, but also true joy and happiness, generously flowing as gifts on its subjects.

Njord and Skadi's squad. Another foster son of Odin’s name is Njord. Njord was born in the Land of the Vans, and just before the war with the Aesir, they gave him as a guarantor. Njörd was immediately pleased with Odin with his gift and became his son. You are alive in the sky, in that place that is called “Ship’s Door.” Njörd works with the right hand - it blows the winds, calms the fire and water, helps the production of sea animals and fish. It has endless wealth, which it willingly bestows upon anyone who asks for it.

Njörd, having reached Asgard as a young man, had no squad in him. She found him out of nowhere, or rather, she picked him up herself. And by chance, Loki himself helped him. It was like this. When they killed Tiazzi’s velet, his daughter, Skadi, dressed in her uniform and chain mail and with her armor went to Asgard to avenge her father. Asi, however, promoted her to Svitova and killed her for ransom. In advance, they allowed her to choose a man among the ass, which was a major death for the velette girls. Just hit your feet, don’t do anything else. A bunch of people suddenly came out, stood in a row and covered their hair with a curtain to their knees. And I touched the feet of one of them, well, they were simply wonderfully beautiful. Says Skadi: “From whom I choose.” And then Njord appeared. Skadi wanted to settle down with her husband where her father was alive - in the mountains. She loved the mountains, often got up on the licks, and shot game. And Njord wants the stench to settle across the sea. They did not give in to one another and lived for nine days in the mountains, and the other nine in the sea. It didn’t work out, and most of the time the skins are alive in their chambers.

Frey. At the chambers of Njörda Skadi gave birth to two children - Freyra and Freya. The stinks were beautiful and powerful. Aje "Frey" means "Pan", and "Freya" means "Pani".

Odin, Thor ta Freyr. Fragment
tapestry. Sweden, XII century.

Freya is the most famous of the goddesses. She watches over the battles and on the battlefield she is responsible for half of the slain. Vaughn takes them away and lets them banquet them outside their chambers. Freya roars everywhere on two guts harnessed to a chariot. Everyone has a liking for people's crap, especially for the crap of people. I hope I’ll help them. Loving Freya ta Carli. They, whose name is the Bresings, prepared a miracle for her as a gift, so that the rich people cry out late. And Loki is trying to steal it. There was still feathers in her falcon - you dress him, transform into a falcon and fly wherever you want. Asi often asked Frey for feathers. And they began to call Freya “Daughter of Njörd”, “Sister of Frey”, “Volodarka of the dead”, “Volodarka of the guts and namist of Brisings”, “Goddess of Kohann”, “Goddess of the Vanirs”.

Freyr and gifts from Karliv. I have a lot of glory for Freyr. The woods and the sunshine are the most precious to me, and so, the fruits of the earth. Looks like a lot of people are lying around. And the Freys loved Yogo Carly no less. On the super river from Loki they forged the golden boar, and the tops on the new Frey rose from day to night. And this miraculous sword is a samosik, embellished with runic signs and that terrible power. Ale yogo love gift - the ship Skidbladnir, or "Foldings of planks." Vin is the most beautiful of ships and has a marvelous mastery of creations. Robbed yogo blue ace Ivaldi. It is so great that it contains all the great things in storage and storage. And just raise the windows, there will always be wind in them, no matter how the ship collapses. And if wine is not needed, it burns like a simple hustka and becomes a hamanets.

Frey will coo at his daughter's veletnya. Yakos Frey, having sat on the throne, looked around the world. Glancing at the surface - and the remains. In one garden there was a great and bright little booth, and before the next one there was a girl. And then she raised her hands and began to open the doors, and from those hands it spread across the heavens and the world, and in all this light there was light.

Frey stopped eating and sleeping, wandering around her chambers gloomy and moody. I do this day after day. Concerned about his father Njord, he sent a servant to the estate of Skirnir to vipitate, which is with his son. And I told yoma Freyr u vidpovid that he had killed one beautiful maiden and scolded her so much that I would die if I didn’t become his kohanoy and squad.

Freyr's servant is going to marry a girl. And there was a daughter of the Girsk velet Gyumir and she was buried in a wall with half a wall. Frey's servant decided to go as a matchmaker, but took with him the master's miraculous sword. Having broken through the turbulent half, we walked to the hut. Having first given the girl 11 golden apples as a gift, she gave up, then Draupnir’s ring, but she didn’t take the beauty again.

Then Frey’s faithful servant went ahead: he ordered the maiden’s father to be killed with a sword, and to be placed on an eagle’s skeleton, where they were tormented by the dwarves, and then pulled under the ground and started to be slaughtered with a goat’s cut. And having already started Skirnir to write the Chaklun runes, so that this curse would be fulfilled. And the girl came up. She decided to give her khanna to Frey in 9 days. Freyr realized that she had just come to the end of the month. And Gerd took her place among the goddesses of Asgard.

Frey began to be called “Nashchadnik of the Vanirs”, “God of the Vanirs”, “God of the prosperity that wealth brings”, “Lord of Skidbladnir and the boar of Gold Bristles”, “Syn of Njörd”, “Brother of Freya”.

Freyr was one of the Vanirs. Vin appeared as a guarantor after the battle between the Aesir and the Vanir. Frey is the son of Njord and the brother of Frey (he later became friends). In honor of the god of birth that summer, cult rituals in his honor were most often observed, and human sacrifices were transferred to the remains. It was also necessary to display the image of the god, carved by the priestesses, on the carts, so that the believers could make offerings and sacrifices to him, ask for a rich harvest and a distant love. The rune represents the power of the god Freyr.

Frey was often depicted together with the Güllinbursti boar. This creature had bristles that illuminated the whole world as it passed through the wind. Freyr was also the captain of the ship Skidbladnir, which flew in the skies and contained the ears of the gods, their horses and armored ones. It is clear that this ship is calmly located near the city. Frey had a miraculous sword, which, of his own will, began to beat enemies, only to be taken away by God. The Castle of God was located in Alfheim, the kingdom of the light elves.

Matchmaking to Gerd

Frey is considered one of the three most important gods in Scandinavian mythology (the other two are i), but there is not so much history about him. The most important one tells about her love to the last velet of Gerd, daughter of Gyumir and Angrbodi. Freyr first encouraged her if he dared to take the great throne of Odin. Gerd was similar to the gloom of a pulsating light (she often falls in love with Aurora or a snowy soul), and Frey fell madly in love with her. Having summed up many more fates for her, Doki Njord did not call his handsome servant Skirnir and did not order him to find out the reason for Freyr’s suffering. Skirnir scrupulously nurtured God and finally learned the whole truth about the addiction to Gerd. The skirnir was destroyed before the summer, in order to try to woo her; Frey held his sword and his horse. The servant also took with him eleven golden apples of eternal youth and Odin’s enchanting ring - Draupnir.

Kin Blodugofi brought Skirnir straight to Jotunheim, and Skirnir poured, so that the palace of Gymer oozes with a ring of half that is sitting. The servant whipped up the horse and the stinks rushed across the fire. Before that, the palace was guarded by majestic dogs, who were in awe, and began to howl so loudly that Gerd sensed them and understood: Frey had sent an unprompted guest, who had killed his brother Beli. Skirnir set out to marry Gerd to Frey, but she didn’t get along well. Then she tried to eat the apples of eternal youth and Draupner, but she was convinced of all her propositions.

Zgoda Gerd

Vrashti-resht Skirnir began to threaten that he would cut off her head, as she would not stand up to Freyr’s exploits, and Gerd swore that she was not afraid of him. And then the faithful servant stood up to the most terrible threat. There were virizan runes on his cue, and a magical power was placed in them, so that when the curse was imposed, it was too greedy. “As soon as you get tired,” Skirnir told her, “then you spend all your time burning yourself in the rage, otherwise you will save the habit of lovelessness; you suffer from hunger, but the taste of whatever life may be unacceptable to you; “You will be locked behind the gates of Hel and against your will you will be guarded by this pitiful sight, knowing that you are turning into an ordinary witch.” And Gerd, getting angry, approached Frey's squad and said that I wouldn't get close to God in nine nights. They became friends, Gerd was able to fall in love with God, and son Fjolnir was born in her.

God Frey entrusts Thor and One to enter the triad of supreme rulers of Asgard. Vin is one of the trinity, although he has nothing to do with war or conflicts. It is clear that even among the ancient Scandinavians, a man was a warrior, especially in times of trouble. Frey roamed like the god of birth, summer, sun and sunny light. This description is richly close to the image of the Slovenian Semargl and the Egyptian Seto. Ale Semargl and Set are the sons of Sonts, and Frey is his vision, personification.
Freyr saved a lot of famous artifacts. Zokrema, the boar Gullinbursti belongs to him (from the old Scandinavian - “golden bristles”, or, in another version, “sharp teeth”). Gullinbursts are the creations of a pig's skin because of the cunning Loki, who provoked the representatives of the two oldest farrier dynasties of Svartalfheim to vie for the feathers of their profession. It is important that Gullinbursti gives up the Swedishness to Sleipner. Freyr can ride high on Gullinburst, or more often just go with him as a guide, which strengthens their friendly hundreds. Moreover, the symbol of the god Frey is a boar or a wild boar.

Another artifact of the god Freyr is Skidbladnir (literal translation – “collections from tablets”). This is a ship that, if necessary, can be folded to such insignificant dimensions that it is easy to climb into the gut. Skidbladner can accommodate all the troops of Asgard (in an “unfolded” state, obviously), as the wind has always been a fair wind. In addition, the marvelous ship of the god Frey can rise in price both by sea and by land. One version of Skidbladnir was created for Frey by the maistri-forges of Ivaldi, and another version was created by Dvalin himself, the volodar of the black alves. From the very beginning the ship was in Loki's hands, but he gave it to Frey for stealing the hair of Sif, Thor's companions, for teaching Frey.
The god Freyr gave birth to a son in the name of Fjölnir during the summer of Gerd. In the “Saga about the English” (X century) it is said that Fjelnir laid the beginning of the English dynasty, the great rulers of the Night. Thus, the population of the Scandinavian region (at a minimum – the “ruling classes”) is directly from Freyr’s land. Both Freyr himself and his son Fjelnir can be seen in many European chronicles, most notably in Saxo Gramaticus’s “Acts of Data” (though under different names).

Based on the original texts, Odin installed Frey as ruler in Uppsala, from where he became the largest temple and began to rule (according to another version, it was not Frey who ruled in Uppsala, but his father, Njörd). Uppsala is one of the oldest places in Sweden, this region has an ancient and rich history (for a long time Uppsala was the religious, and later - the secular center of the region).

Freyr (as a historical person) gave rise to the title “Frodi’s Light”, a troubling period of time, which was characterized by the constant presence of wars in the Scandinavian region. “The Saga of the English” is about those in which the reign of King Freyr (or, of course, Frodi) was marked by rich feuds and great advances in the well-being of the population. After the death of Frey, his body was secretly buried (as if it wasn’t burned!) by the sacrifices of the ancient gods, who, according to the legend, for three rocks, gave gold, harvested and salzed.

God Freyr is a unique image. He cares about the light, hates and despises war, and saves his power - with the sword of light. Prote, as you might have guessed, is saying goodbye to the sword for the sake of Kohann (it is likely that Gerd can be the personification of the earth, while Freyr is the personification of the sky, and this myth describes the symbolic sky). Apparently, this is one of the most recent edgy stories that still calls for plenty of food.

One of Frey's most common names is Ingvi. It is clear that the Scandinavian names (both men and women) are similar - Ingvar, Ingeborga, Ingmar, Ingrid. This is a symbolic eponym, which is obviously similar to the name of the group of Yngevons (German tribes of the 6th century BC) coined by Tacitus and Pliny.
