The production of Voskhod-2 motorcycles began in the distant 70s, when these motorcycles were known as Voskhod-2M. This is a kind of deeply modernized version of the very first "Sunrise". In 1977, the release of the Voskhod-2M motorcycle was launched, but after a couple of years, the more advanced bike, Voskhod-3, was already rifling on Soviet roads.

In the modernized "second" Voskhod, the engineers did not globally redo the frame, limiting themselves to modernizing the appearance of the motorcycle. They added a few bright details - a new optics, replaced the rectangular turn signals with round ones, made the muffler more attractive, modified the gas tank, trunk and dirt guards. And as a result, we got a rather attractive motorcycle, by the standards of past years, of course.

At first glance, the appearance of the Voskhod-2M motorcycle was not particularly different from the Voskhod-2, except for minor details, but it was also more dimensional. The width of the Voskhod-2M motorcycle was 730 mm, thanks to the installation of a new steering wheel, the height was 1090 mm, while the length of the motorcycle was 2000 mm. Mass "Voskhod-2M" reached 121 kg, which is 9 kg more than the classic "two".

Concerning technical characteristics, then the same engine with a volume of 173.7 cm3 was installed on the Voskhod-2. As a result of the use of the new K-36B carburetor and the improvement of the ignition system, engineers were able to increase the engine power to 10.5 l / s at 5400 rpm.

In the process of upgrading the Voskhod-2M, engineers brought the engine power to 14.0 l / s at 5600 rpm, while the engine torque increased to 16 Nm against 15 Nm, which were earlier. Similar power was achieved after installing another head of the block and increasing the compression ratio. In addition to all of the above, the Voskhod-2M motorcycle has become equipped with new ones: a generator, an ignition coil and a switch. Equipped with the engines of motorcycles "Voskhod-2" and "Voskhod-2M" 4-speed manual gearbox with multi-plate clutch. "Voskhod-2M" developed a speed of up to 105 km / h, and fuel consumption was around 4.4 liters.

The suspension of the Voskhod-2 bike was exactly the same as that of its predecessor, and a completely opposite design was already installed on the Voskhod-2M. The course of the front telescopic fork increased to 160 mm, against 135 mm, which were previously, put new shock absorbers behind. After all these alterations, the new model of the motorcycle of fat is less sensitive to unevenness of the track at high speeds and got rid of the “shortcomings” of the first motorcycle “Voskhod”.

The Voskhod-2M motorcycle was not produced for long - just a few years, but just such a Voskhod equipment, due to its reliability, practicality, ease of maintenance and repair, became the most sought after bike lover of Soviet times. The history of the motorcycle "Sunrise" began at the plant to them. Degtyarev, which produced, at that time, about a million different anti-tank guns. Nobody would have thought that, along with weapons, motorcycles would also be produced. However, contrary to doubts, on March 7, 1946, for the first time, "Sunrise" rolled through the streets.

Of course, the Sunrise motorcycle, like any other vehicle, has many positive and negative sides. One of the brightest advantages, probably, is its low price and the possibility of repair, almost on the move. This bike is very common, and the network of suppliers of parts is quite wide, so before the owner of this bike it will not be a problem to search for or replace damaged spare parts.

  • a large tank (enough for 500-600 km);
  • high quality brakes;
  • excellent volume to power ratio;

  • modest appearance;
  • weak frame for difficult roads;

Technical characteristics of the motorcycle "Sunrise"

Motorcycles of this type have a two-stroke single-cylinder engine and a four-speed gearbox. These bikes have a simple but strong enough mechanism of a welded tubular frame of a closed type. The motorcycle has an extremely light weight - about 110 kilograms. Whole 13 liters was his capacity. The length was approximately 1930 millimeters, while the wheelbase does not exceed 1300 mm. The width of the motorcycle is 690 mm, and the height is only 1010 mm.


If we continue to talk about the technical parameters of the Rising, then we can say that the volume of the engine in the work of the road all-terrain vehicle was 173.8 cm3, and the highest power was about 7.37 kW at 5300 revolutions per minute. It could also provide the g411 alternator itself, therefore operation is possible without a battery.

The first motorcycle "Sunrise" laid the foundation in 1965. In comparison with its predecessor (K-175V), the single-cylinder two-stroke motorcycle engine added power.

The road "Voskhod 2" replaced the initial model of this series, it was even more powerful than its "father", but this is where the main transformations ended, if you do not take into account its appearance. Updated headlights appeared, and direction indicators became round shape. There were improvements in the electronic ignition system and updated alarm devices were added. If to compare with the previous model, these innovations are quite insignificant, but, nevertheless, have become a pleasant addition.

The new “Voskhod 2” became a bit quicker and could reach its speed of up to 95 km / h, but at the same time it “recovered” by several kilograms.


In 1977, the improved Sunrise 2M came to replace. The engine remained the same in volume, but now it has become even more powerful. This upgrade came at the expense of increasing the configuration of channels in the crankcase and cylinder. Also, changes have affected some parts: the suspension of the motorcycle and shock absorbers have been improved. The new bike became heavier, now its weight was 121 kg and faster by as much as 10 km / h.

Following the predecessor came out - "Sunrise 3". The model, of course, has become significantly better than its predecessors. An updated intake system and brake system were installed. The driver's seat is now more comfortable. But the maximum speed has not changed, despite the fact that the weight has nevertheless increased, now it is 125 kg.


In 1984, the light came "Sunrise 3M". It was implemented properly and reliably enough. Motorcycle continued its release until the end of 1992. Indicators of low and high beams and speedometer began to appear on the panel. Installed the steps of the driver, which reclined. The maximum speed is not changed, and the weight was less by several kilograms than that of the "Rising 3".

In 1985, the Sunrise 3M-Tourist was created. On this version, we installed resistant safety arches, a completely updated steering wheel and tourist equipment. But the weight, as well as the speed were not changed.

And the last reincarnation - Sunrise 3M-01, was created in 1989. Only a motorcycle engine with a flap valve was subject to significant improvements. With the help of it, it was possible to reduce fuel waste to 4.2 liters per 100 km. The steering wheel has become somewhat wider, and thus more convenient. And on this model, the Voskhod motorcycles completed their transformations, and the Sova brand continued production.

In our time, the manufacture of motorcycles at the plant them. Degtyarev is still in force, but now there is nothing in common between the Voskhod line and the plant. The latest modifications were completely unprepared for the current conditions of market competition.

Although the “Sunrise” motorcycle represents the classics of the last century, it is still popular today, and is famous for its unpretentiousness and cheap repairs. But he can compete.

Motorcycle series "Voskhod-2", whose production began in the 70s, is best known for the modification "Voskhod-2M", which, in fact, is a deeply modernized version of the first "Voshod". The release of the Voskhod-2M road motorcycle was started in 1977, but after two years a more advanced bike, the Voskhod-3, appeared on the Soviet motorcycle market.

But back to the "two". Engineers refused a global rework of the frame, improving the appearance of the motorcycle due to striking details: a new optics, round turn signals instead of rectangular ones, a prettier muffler, a slightly modified gas tank, a different trunk and other antisplash panels. As a result, the motorcycle became much more attractive and, by the standards of those years, was not inferior to foreign analogues in its class of road bikes. In turn, "Voskhod-2M" outwardly from the classic "two" practically did not differ, with the exception of small details, such as the pattern of the rear light, but it had larger sizes. The length of the Voskhod-2M motorcycle was 2000 mm, the wheelbase was 1300 mm, the height was 1090 mm, and the width increased to 730 mm due to the installation of a new steering wheel. The dry weight of the Voskhod-2M motorcycle increased to 121 kg versus 112 kg in the classic “two”.

On the technical characteristics of the power unit - on the motorcycle "Voskhod-2" installed the former single-cylinder two-stroke gasoline engine with a working volume of 173.7 cm3. But at the same time, due to the use of the new K-36B carburetor, modernization of the ignition system and the exhaust system, engineers managed to increase the engine power to 10.5 hp. at 5400 rev / min, and torque was increased to 15 Nm at 5200 rev / min.

In the course of work on the Voskhod-2M motorcycle, Soviet engineers were able to bring the engine power up to 14 hp, developed at 5,600 rpm. In turn, the motor torque was increased to 16 Nm, which was achieved at the same 5600 rev / min. A similar increase in power was achieved by installing a new cylinder head and increasing the compression ratio from 7.5 to 9.2. In addition, a new generator G-427, an ignition coil B-300B and a switch KET-1A were installed on the Voskhod-2M. The engines of the Voskhod-2 and Voskhod-2M motorcycles aggregated with the time-tested 4-speed manual gearbox with multi-plate clutch. Motorcycle "Voskhod-2M" was able to develop up to 105 km / h maximum speedand its average fuel consumption at the same time was about 4.4 liters.

If the suspension of the road bike "Voskhod-2" was identical to its predecessor, then a completely different design was installed on the "Voskhod-2M". The course of the front telescopic fork was increased from 135 mm to 160 mm, and new shock absorbers were installed at the back. As a result, the motorcycle became less sensitive to irregularities at high speeds and got rid of sores.

"Voskhod-2M" was produced only a few years, but it was this modification that became the most popular among motorists of that time due to higher reliability, practicality, "omnivorous" in terms of fuel and ease of maintenance. Already in 1979, "Voskhod-2M" gave way to the third generation of the line -.

In Soviet times, there were many attempts to use captured drawings of German technology to create a high-quality and inexpensive domestic motorcycle. But there were also cases when engineers, having sufficient experience and knowledge, tried to create something of their own, only relying on those technologies that were obtained from outside. Such attempts were not always successful, but some of them managed to survive the “time of troubles” and their “descendants” are still being made.

"Sunrise" is trademarkbelonging to the plant named after Degtyaryov (ZiD). Production began with the release of technology, repeating the development of the Kovrov plant. Model K-175, taken as a basis, was produced serially, in the period from 57 to 65 years.

The popularity of this technique persisted for decades, thanks to this simplicity and low cost, which was so appreciated by the common people. The car was quite reliable and had good off-road qualities. Because of this, this technique was in demand in rural areas, and where the roads did not allow the use of more capricious models. Yes, and faults, as well as factory marriages, were extremely rare.


Initially, the models were designed to refuel 76, and then - 80 gasoline. But craftsmen have long been reworking them for modern fuel and quite successfully refuel that sold at modern gas stations.

The modern "Sunrise", this motorcycle is quite light and fast (90-105 km / h). At the same time, the controllability is at the middle level, therefore, we do not advise anyone to stumble on it. You can break your head on the ultra-modern Yamaha, or Honda, and the old Soviet technology, created for household needs, is not at all suitable for mad speeds on the track.

The order of release of models

The first "Sunrise" appeared in 1965. On it was an engine of 10 hp / 14 nm at 5100 rpm. Transmission was a four-stage and very good for that time. Motorcycle people like, but because soon the series was replenished with modifications.


Sunrise 2 is a motorcycle that differs little technically. Plus 0.5 hp can hardly be considered something particularly noticeable. But the appearance has changed somewhat, including the headlights. Improved and ignition system. The car has become a little faster and heavier for a couple of kg.

The most popular model is the 3M Sunrise motorcycle. The new “troika” came out in 1984 and immediately became a real hit in the USSR. Moreover, this is not a joke and it was released until the mid-90s. The reason was the reliability and reliability of this simple machine.

The motorcycle, weighing just over 120 kg, was fast enough. It accelerated easily to 90 km / h. Soon came the sports version - Sunrise 3M - Tourist. Changed the arc, steering wheel and other details. Speed ​​and weight remained unchanged.


"Sunrises" could not compete in technology with Japanese or German technology. Therefore, no one set a similar task for the plant. It still produced a budget motorcycle, which is easy to repair, and which would be suitable for household needs. Impassability of these models has always remained one of the main characteristics.

Good all the time of day guys, I have not been here for a long time, but nostalgia for the bike and all sorts of improvements, did not leave me at rest and decided to unsubscribe a little from my 3M, some relevant information.

When buying oil in Sokolniki, I saw a bike pasted over with stickers, I saw cars in the city, I bumped up the bumper, I had mirrors, but I didn’t know where to buy such stickers, after talking with the bike owner, I decided to try, try what would happen who prefers good looks, good painting, and not any kind of stickers, but at the moment decided to try anyway). I changed the light bulb in the headlamp, installed the Narva H4 60/55 W light bulb through the adapter, the light is noticeably brighter than with a standard lamp.

At the moment, the bike drove 30,000 km, the speedometer on it was changed to 28,000 km, with the aim of upgrading.

It shines quite brightly, it is no different from a lamp, if only by the flash rate, the LEDs flash a priori faster and consume several times less.

Rubber L-328 (Petroshina) rows paddling much better than regular Sunrise, but noisy on asphalt. The front lower profile model L-240, the same petroshinovskaya rubber.

Oil that pour into the tank Motorrad 2T from Liqui Moly, I want to try to ride a Motul 510 2T. The box is filled with oil M8, I plan to try to pour Motul Transoil 10W30.

Switch: On Voskhod 3m with a 90W generator instead of the standard switchboard 70 number already taken out, the following switch fits (see photo below), starts up on it as well as on the standard one, bought it in Sokolniki.

The engine was painted in matt black, heat-resistant paint. (Kudo enamel is heat-resistant up to 650 degrees).

What else can I say, maybe in the future I will paint it in the workshop traditionally with a glossy gloss, having torn off all the stickers, but at the moment it is in such a state. The engine is very smart even considering the mileage of 30,000, although rings were replaced, engine modifications were not carried out, because I want to drive, and not repair the bike because of the failed parts after the forcing (I prefer a competent run-in and setting the ignition in conjunction with a carburetor rather than forcing the engine). The clutch on a cold engine leads a little, but when the engine warms up, all power is transferred to the wheel, and the clutch stops driving.

The average comfortable speed of 75-80 km / h, maximum 90 km / h. I also plan to pour fuel conservator into the tank for the winter, and in the spring it is very hard to start the engine.
